The Arts Section 08/26/18
On this edition of The Arts Section, host Gary Zidek talks to the members of Sabertooth. The Chicago jazz quartet has been playing overnights at the historic Green Mill every Saturday/Sunday for the past 26 years. The group will take the main stage at this year's Chicago Jazz Festival. Gary talks to the members of the group about playing late nights for a quarter century. The Dueling Critics, Kelly Klieman and Jonathan Abarbanel, stop by to review Writers Theatre's production of VIETGONE. A little later, Gary sits down with Daily Herald editor and columnist Sean Stangland to talk about some proposed changes to the Academy Awards. Gary catches up with longtime Chicago Reader music writer Peter Margasak as he prepares to embark on a new journey. All that plus, the weekly Arts Section calendar.
