February 26th, 2017

On this edition of The Arts Section, host Gary Zidek salutes some of the films nominated for Academy Awards this year. He revisits conversation with multiple-Oscar nominee Justin Hurwitz, who composed the score and all the original songs for LA LA LAND, this season’s most nominated film.  Gary also brings back an interview with author Margot Lee Shetterly, who wrote the New York Times best-selling book HIDDEN FIGURES. It was adapted into a movie that’s nominated for Best Picture.  Gary also offers some predictions to get you ready for your Oscar pool.  The Dueling Critics will stop later in the program to review Steppenwolf’s latest production, STRAIGHT WHITE MEN. Plus, a conversation with local jazz musician Jeannie Tanner, who is set to release her new album, WORDS & MUSIC.
