On this edition of The Arts Section, host Gary Zidek talks to modern day jazz titan Branford Marsalis. The saxophonist was in Chicago to perform with vocalist Kurt Elling. Gary also previews some of the ways Chicago is celebrating Chinese New Year. He caught up with the president of the Chinese Fine Arts Society, Julie Tiao Ma. We'll hear about a new photo retrospective titled GLAM BUGS. Gary sits down with the director of Lyric Unlimited, Cayenne Harris, to talk about the opera organization’s Chicago Voices project. Plus, a conversation with blues singer Shemekia Copeland. And the Dueling Critics will stop by with a review of a new play set during the Chicago blizzard of 1967.
