The Arts Section 01/01/17
January 1st, 2017
Happy New Year! On this special edition of The Arts Section, host Gary Zidek will look back at some of the show's best features from 2016, plus a couple new segments. Gary caught up a Chicago-based food writer to talk about the growing popularity of ... brunch. The Arts Section looks back at one of the Art Institute’s most popular exhibits from 2016. And Gary revisits a conversation with author, Margot Lee Shetterly, who’s book, HIDDEN FIGURES, was turned into a movie, that just opened in theaters. And the Dueling Critics stop by to tell us about their favorite theatrical productions from the past year. But first, it’s impossible to look back at 2016 without paying tribute to all the great entertainers and artists we lost. Gary spoke with jazz musician Donny McCaslin, about working with David Bowie before the pop culture icon passed away last January.
