The Arts Section 09/25/16
September 25th, 2016
On this edition of The Arts Section, host Gary Zidek gets an up-close look at a BLOW-UP: INFLATABLE CONTEMPORARY ART, a new exhibit, currently on display at the Elmhurst Art Museum. The exhibit includes the world premiere of a locally produced inflatable opera. Gary also chats with the author of an inspiring new book (HIDDEN FIGURES) that tells the true story of a group of African-American women that worked as mathematicians for the U.S. government in the 1940's. WDCB's Dan Bindert sat down with local saxophonist, D-Erania. She just released a new album full of original material. We'll also revisit a story on Kerry James Marshall, as the retrospective exhibit of his work closes at the Museum of Contemporary Art. And the Dueling Critics will stop by with a review of a world premiere play.
