WDCB Jazz Fest Week Live Broadcasts

August 20th, 2019

WDCB will add to the excitement of Jazz Fest Week with three live broadcast events from PianoForte Studios in Chicago:
Monday, August 26, 6:00-7:00pm: Judy Roberts & Greg Fishman
Tuesday, August 27, 6:00-7:00pm: Margaret Murphy-Webb Trio with Charlie Johnson & Chuck Webb
Wednesday, August 28, 6:00-7:00pm: Miguel de la Cerna & Marlene Rosenberg

Admission is FREE!  However, seating at PianoForte Studios will be first come, first seated due to limited size of the venue.

For the third year in a row, radio listeners will hear live coverage from the main stage of the Chicago Jazz Festival right here on WDCB! Working together in partnership with our friends at the WFMT Radio Network and Choose Chicago, WDCB will bring the excitement of the festival to all of Chicagoland with a radio broadcast of three headlining sets direct from the Jay Pritkzer Pavilion in Millennium Park.

Here’s WDCB’s Chicago Jazz Festival radio schedule:

Thursday, August 29, 7:45 – 9:00pm: Freddy Cole, Tribute to Nat King Cole
Friday, August 30, 7:45 – 9:00pm: Art Ensemble of Chicago
Saturday, August 31, 6:25 – 7:25pm: Christian McBride

WDCB’s exclusive local broadcasts will be co-hosted by WDCB host Dan Bindert and WFMT Radio Network announcers Dee Alexander, Leslie Keros and Dave Schwan.

A favorite Chicago Labor Day weekend tradition, the 41st Annual Chicago Jazz Festival will be hosted from August 23–September 1 in Millennium Park, the Chicago Cultural Center (78 E. Washington St.) and at venues throughout the city. The festival is featuring free performances in neighborhood clubs and venues from August 23 to 28, leading up to the concerts at the Chicago Cultural Center and in Millennium Park.

The 2019 Chicago Jazz Festival is produced by the City of Chicago’s Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events and programmed by the Jazz Institute of Chicago, and the live festival broadcast is made possible by the City of Chicago, WFMT Radio Network, WDCB and Choose Chicago.

WDCB will also offer a special live broadcast from the Delmark Records Studio:
Sunday, September 1, 10 – 11am: Geof Bradfield Quartet
(note: this is NOT open to the public)
