WDCB hosts free Lakeside Pavilion concerts at MAC!
WDCB is pleased to announce its 2017 Summer Music Series at The MAC! All three concerts will be held at the Lakeside Pavilion, starting at 7:30pm each evening, and are FREE!
Thursday, Jul 28: Guy King Little Big Band - Tribute to Ray Charles and B.B. King
Thursday, August 3: The New Lionel Hampton Big Band with Jason Marsalis
Thursday, August 10: Orbert Davis Sextet with special guests Pharez Whitted & Victor Garcia - Tribute to Dizzy Gillespie
The Pavilion opens at 6:30pm. Bring a blanket and/or chairs and enjoy a picnic on the lawn. Beer, wine and other concessions will be available for sale. No outside alcoholic beverages permitted; concession stand available for ages 21+. Click here for more information.

The New Lionel Hampton Big Band features Jason Marsalis and world-class musicians who played with Hamp himself: Cleave Guyton Jr, Lance Bryant, and Christian Fabian. “Louis Armstrong, Benny Goodman, Buddy Rich, Charlie Parker, Charles Mingus, Quincy Jones, Oscar Peterson, Dizzie Gillespie – they all played with Hamp” says Lance Bryant, the last musical director for Lionel Hampton.

Emmy-Award winning trumpeter, composer and educator Orbert Davis is named one of Chicago’s “most admired jazz artists” (Howard Reich, Chicago Tribune). Orbert Davis was named by Chicago Magazine as “Y2k Best Trumpeter in Chicago” and “Chicagoan of the Year for 2002.” In September 2011, Davis was named Artist-In-Residence for the Chicago Jazz Festival, an honor held by only one other Chicagoan in its history.
