Bob Lorenz Tribute

Bob Lorenz was a reporter and the morning anchor of "Daylight Edition" for WDCB Public Radio for more than fifteen years. Bob will be missed greatly by his fellow staff members and the WDCB listeners that appreciated, among his many wonderful qualitites, his humor in the morning.

A copy of his obituary from the Daily Herald appears below:

"Robert W. "Bob" Lorenz of Glen Ellyn for 20 years A memorial visitation for Robert W. "Bob" Lorenz, 47, will be held from 3 to 9 p.m. Thursday, March 31, at the Leonard Memorial Home, 565 Duane St., Glen Ellyn. Family and friends are to meet for memorial Mass at 10:30 a.m. Friday, at St. Matthew Catholic Church, Glendale Heights. The Rev. Kevin Lafey will officiate. Inurnment is private. Born June 8, 1963, in Chicago, to Robert Sr. and Ramona Lorenz, he died Monday, March 28, 2011, at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago. Bob was a news anchor for WDCB College of DuPage Radio. He also did voice-over work for Sears, Visa and the "Click It or Ticket" campaign, and was a stand-in for the movie "Wanted." Bob loved to cook, enjoyed music, played the drums and loved to retreat to Galena with family and friends to enjoy nature. Bob is survived by his beloved wife of seven years, Carolyn; loving stepsons, Joseph and Kyle; dear sisters, Cathleen Steinkuller of Glen Ellyn, Karen (Edwin) Rosenwinkel of Lombard and brother, Andrew (Valerie) of Virginia; and fond uncle of Gregory, Toni, Christen, Eddy and Matthew. Memorial contributions to the Northern Illinois Food Bank, 600 Industrial Drive, St. Charles, IL 60174-2484, would be appreciated."
