The Arts Section 08/05/18

August 5th, 2018

On this edition of The Arts Section, host Gary Zidek sits down with New Philharmonic music director Kirk Muspratt.  The award-winning conductor leads to Chicago-area orchestras, but his original passion was playing piano. The Dueling Critics, Kelly Kleiman and Jonathan Abarbanel, stop by to review Eclipse Theatre's new production of the William Inge classic BUS STOP.  Gary reviews the new documentary MCQUEEN.  The film paints a portrait of the late fashion designer Alexander McQueen. And later in the program, Gary takes a closer look at the Terra Foundation.  The non-profit is the lead organizer and sponsor for the yearlong initiative, ART DESIGN CHICAGO, yet many local residents probably aren't aware of the Terra Foundation's origins.  In addition to talking with some of the organization's leaders, he also visits the Foundation's top secret art vault.  All that plus, the weekly Arts Section calendar.
