Cadillac Records

Cadillac Records (2008) dramatizes the rise of the legendary Chess Records. The influential Chicago label, celebrating its 75th anniversary this year, launched the careers of Muddy Waters, Etta James, Chuck Berry, and many other legends. The film utilizes plenty of Hollywood star power – including Jeffrey Wright, Adrien Brody, Beyonce Knowles, Mos Def and Cedric the Entertainer – to explore the dynamic between the label’s groundbreaking artists and co-founder Leonard Chess, while highlighting the label’s pivotal role in shaping American blues and rock.

FAQs

What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event?

The film will be shown at the College of DuPage, in the Student Resource Center (SRC), Room 2000 (in the Jack H. Turner Conference Center - located on the north side of the SRC). Use parking lot FAWELL B or D (Lot C will be closed and under construction), and enter through doors marked SRC1.  The Conference Center is located up the stairs to the right.  There is also an elevator at the entrance.
