The documentary tells the story of a group of session musicians known as "The Wrecking Crew", a band that provided instrumental back-up to such legendary recording artists as Frank Sinatra, Sonny & Cher, Nat King Cole, The Beach Boys, The Byrds, The Monkees and Herb Alpert. These talented Los Angeles-based players included guitarists Barney Kessel, Tommy Tedesco and Glen Campbell, drummers Hal Blaine and Earl Palmer, bassist Carol Kaye, saxophonist Plas Johnson and many more. Their musical creativity, sometimes jazz inspired and often uncredited on the actual records, resulted in musical magic that elevated some of the most famous pop hits of all time.
