'Still Bill' Johnson Tribute
All Things Jazz
Beginning in August 2000, for a number of years, "Still Bill" hosted our early Sunday morning "Sounds Ethereal" program followed by our jazz program "All Things Jazz." Sadly, Still Bill passed in 2010. Other Chicago radio stations he worked for include WFYR and WJPC.
Still Bill was very involved DJing for the "Steppers" and worked on the National Steppers Convention in Chicago. He also worked on the Chicago Master Jam New Artist Showcase. And he marketing music for such artists as Roy Ayers, The New Lost Generation, The Chi-Lites, Kaid, Marzette Griffith, PNP, and a host of others.
"Still Bill" held a FCC Third Class License, and was a member of National Academy of Recording Arts Sciences (NARAS).
He was fond of signing off with a quote from Count Basie: "Remember when you can't sleep, don't count sheep."
