Scott Childers

Scott Childers is a lifelong Chicagoan and a broadcasting veteran with over 35 years of experience in radio and television. Both on the air and behind the scenes, he has contributed to some of the most respected stations in the area. A passionate Chicago radio historian, Scott authored Chicago’s WLS Radio (Arcadia Press), chronicling the legacy of one of the most iconic radio stations.

As the Programming Operations Coordinator at WDCB, Scott plays a key role in ensuring the station runs smoothly every day. He oversees programming, particularly WDCB’s diverse lineup of evening and weekend shows, helping to bring high-quality jazz, blues, and other genres to the community. Having been a longtime fan of WDCB, Scott is proud to contribute to the station that holds a special place in Chicago’s rich musical landscape.

His work has earned him multiple Chicago Achievement in Radio (AIR) Awards, an Illinois Broadcasters Association Silver Dome Award for his radio documentary on the Hindenburg disaster, and the prestigious Peter Lisagor Award for Excellence in Journalism.

Outside of broadcasting, he enjoys traveling with his wife, exploring the local craft brewery scene and attending live music events.
