Host of: Hambone's Blues Party

Scott 'Hambone' Hammer Scott "Hambone" Hammer, a Chicago-based attorney, went on-air with Hambone's Blues Party in November 1995, broadcasting from a small Arlington Heights radio station, WCBR 92.7FM. Thirteen years and 650 shows later, he currently can be found on listener-supported public radio, WDCB 90.9FM, simulcast on the web at www.wdcb.org, every Thursday, from 10 p.m. until midnight.

Hambone's Blues Party has been featured in the Chicago Tribune, Sun-Times and Daily Herald, and Hambone himself has emceed the Blues on the Fox Festival since 2000, presenting national acts to crowds of 10,000. Hambone is also a contributor to the webzine Chicago Blues Guide, www.chicagobluesguide.com, blogging his monthly picks for Hambone's Top Spins.

From the backseat of his black Cadillac parked on the corner of Jazz Avenue and Blues Boulevard, Hambone has produced one of the longest running radio shows in a town known for the blues. Fans and musicians alike tune in to hear Hambone play contemporary blues and classic R&B recordings, all with plenty of rhythm, jump and soul. Hambone does his homework too, sharing background, bios and anecdotes about the music he plays.

In addition to recorded music, Hambone is proud to have hosted over 200 bands live, in-studio, including legendary performers such as Eddy Clearwater, Otis Clay, Mighty Joe Young and Honeyboy Edwards. Local musicians Marty Sammon and Tom Holland filmed their appearance on Hambone's Blues Party and posted it on YouTube, www.youtube.com, while Mr. G & the Mystery Band blogged the following: "Hambone is doing a very good thing for Chicago's blues community and he deserves our support and gratitude."
