The Arts Section 10/14/18

October 14th, 2018

On this edition of The Arts Section, host Gary Zidek sits down with BEAUTIFUL BOY director Felix Van Groeningen. The Belgium filmmaker spent 3 years working on the film which is based on two memoirs, that each offer a different perspective of a shared experience of dealing with addiction. Gary and Felix talk about perceptions of addiction, his approach to filming certain scenes and casting Timothee Chalamet and Steve Carell. The Dueling Critics, Kelly Klieman and Jonathan Abarbanel, stop by to review Steppenwolf Theatre’s world premiere play, DOWNSTATE. Hear all about the upcoming event ART FOR LIFE. And Gary catches up with (re)discover theatre co-artistic director Ann Kreitman to talk about the immersive theater production she created, Les Innocents/The Innocents.
