The Arts Section 06/04/14
On this edition of The Arts Section, host Gary Zidek previews the new Takashi Murakami retrospective at the Museum of Contemporary Art. The influential Japanese artist was in Chicago recently to open the exhibit. Gary caught up with a Chicago-based double threat, who’s passion for creating things led her to start a booming cake business. Local music writer and historian Bill Dahl talks to soul and blues singer William Bell, who is one of the headliners for Chicago Blues Fest. We’ll hear about a suburban jazz fest that’s coming up. And the Dueling Critics will stop by to review a new jazz inspired play that includes a score composed by Orbert Davis.
WDCB's Gary Zidek caught up with MCA chief curator Michael Darling to talk about the new Takashi Murakami retrospective, THE OCTOPUS EATS ITS OWN LEG.
Gary also chatted with musician and cake-maker extraordinaire, Emily Nejad
