Governor Imposes New Restrictions on Chicago
Chicago is the latest area of Illinois to have COVID-19 restrictions imposed. Governor J.B. Pritzker has announced new restrictions for the city that will prohibit indoor dining and bar service and limit gatherings to 25 as of Friday. The governor says the city’s positivity rate has nearly double since the start of the month. COVID-19 hospitalizations are also way up. Starting this weekend, the mitigations will be in effect in at least seven of the 11 regions of Illinois. The governor says without such action, the problem could grow worse than what the state saw in the spring.
