Pritzker Unveils Guidelines For School Re-Openings
Governor J.B. Pritzker released long-awaited guidance for schools across the state as questions swirl over how instruction will resume in the fall. Pritzker says every school district, college and university will be asked to develop their own reopening plan. The new school rules will require the use of face coverings, limits the number of people gathering in one place, calls for social distancing “as much as possible” and requires more school-wide cleaning and disinfection. The rules also call for schools to conduct symptom screening and temperature checks, or that people “self-certify that they are free of symptoms before entering school buildings. Pritzker said schools should also prepare for the possibility that they will need to return to remote learning if there is a COVID-19 resurgence in the state.
