The Arts Section 02/05/17

February 5th, 2017

On this edition of The Arts Section, host Gary Zidek takes a closer look at Chicago's year of public art.  Gary sat down with city of Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events commissioner Mark Kelly to talk about the 50x50 Neighborhood Arts project. Gary also caught up with Plate Magazine senior editor Amy Cavanaugh, who recently authored a piece on vintage spirits.  Some high end bars are investing in decades-old bottles and offering a taste of history. WDCB’s Brian O’Keefe talked to Chicago-based pianist Jo Ann Daugherty. Sports Illustrated editor Kostya Kennedy joins Gary to look back at the history of the Super Bowl.  And the Dueling Critics review a play called A DISAPPEARING NUMBER.

Some bars are offering customers something more than cocktails made from craft spirits, how about a chance to taste history?
