Performer, songwriter, entertainer, and educator Joe Jencks will be joined by touring songwriters Edie Carey and Heather Styka to perform a special Solstice show at ARC. Jencks has performed in venues from Carnegie Hall to coffee houses, festivals, spiritual communities, and schools. He is well-known as one third of the dynamic folk trio Brother Sun, acclaimed for their tight harmonies and powerful voices. Boston-bred and Chicago-based singer-songwriter Edie Carey is known for intelligent, heart-grabbing songs and an unmistakeable soulful voice. A Kerrville New Folk Competition winner and Rocky Mountain New Song Contest finalist, Carey has performed on Mountain Stage as well as festivals, colleges, and listening rooms across the US, Canada, and UK. Chicago singer-songwriter and recent Maine transplant Heather Styka is known for songs as fresh as they are rooted in the folk and Americana tradition, with lyrics that are smart and unexpected but never cryptic. With numerous songwriting awards and critical praise, Styka stands at the forefront of her generation of songwriters, now emerging onto the national folk scene. All three performers are noted for their warm, engaging presence, authenticity, and humor, and they'll be joining forces to bring lush harmonies on original songs as well as songs of the season. Join us for a magical evening of warmth and light while celebrating the longest night with Joe Jencks, Edie Carey, and Heather Styka. This special event will be broadcast LIVE on WFMT's Folkstage, so grab your tickets before it sells out!
