The Arts Section 09/16/18

September 16th, 2018

On this edition of The Arts Section, host Gary Zidek sits down with the team behind the public art project known as The Wabash Lights. Four years after officially launching, Jack Newell and Seth Unger are entering a new chapter in their efforts to make the lights a reality. Gary reviews the upcoming film, LIFE ITSELF. The drama stars Oscar Isaac and Olivia Wilde. The Dueling Critics, Kelly Kleiman and Jonathan Abarbanel, stop by to discuss the new immersive theater production, SOUTHERN GOTHIC. A little later in the program, music writer Dennis Polkow sits down with Chicago Symphony Orchestra music director Riccard Muti. The CSO will open its new season with a free “Concert for Chicago”. And Gary visits the Music Box Theatere for a look inside the projector’s booth as historic venue gets ready for its 70mm Film Festival. The larger film format allows for a truly unique film-watching experience.
