The Arts Section 10/28/18

October 28th, 2018

On this edition of The Arts Section, host Gary Zidek sits down with first-time filmmaker Elizabeth Chomko to talk about her movie WHAT THEY HAD. Starring Hilary Swank and Michael Shannon, the film dives into the ups and downs of a Chicago family coping with a loved one suffering from dementia. A little later in the show, Gary chats with award winning composer and pianist Reginald Robinson about a new program he’s created that pays tribute to music pioneer James Reese Europe.  Gary caught up with Chicago Humanities Festival artistic director Alison Cuddy to talk about all the festival programming taking place over the next two weeks.  WDCB’s Leslie Kerros spoke with Alligator Records founder Bruce Iglauer to talk about his new memoir. And the Dueling Critics join Gary to discuss a new production at Raven Theatre.
