The Arts Section 09/18/16

September 18th, 2016
Author, Jeremy McCarter

On this edition of The Arts Section, host Gary Zidek catches up with Chicago-based author Jeremy McCarter.  The former theatre critic co-wrote HAMILTON: THE REVOLUTION, the hardcover book about the making of the broadway smash HAMILTON.  Gary also spoke with acclaimed, award-winning pianist Vijay Iyer.  The renowned musician almost became a physicist, but ended up pursuing his love of music. WDCB's Brian O'Keefe talked to local jazz artist Shawn Maxwell.  The Dueling Critics stop by with a review of a new play titled THE BLACK SLOT. And Gary looks back at the history of the Dupage-based New Philharmonic, as it celebrates its 40th season.
